Chitupec: A sailor that has sailed side by side with Edér while serving The Defiant.Irrena: One of the only survivors of the Deadfire welcome and the founding leader of Defiant’s crew.Edér: A tall fighter that was present in the Pillars of Eternity and was usually seen travelling with the Watcher. You will be meeting the following Inhabitants here: It’s the location where The Defiant went to eternal slumber. This area contains the Sea Cave of Maje Island. Having said that, here are the major regions present in the Southwest Zone: Maje Island They can be generally challenging, but a little effort is all you need to pass through these trials. The Southwest Zone mainly comprises fortresses and ruins and spans four major regions. With that said, let’s take a look at how these areas operate according to their zones and regions. Each area comes with its own specific set of challenges and trials that the players need to overcome in order to progress through the game. There are a total of 38 locations (approx) spanning the seventeen major regions of Pillars of Eternity 2. Areas In Pillars Of Eternity 2: Deadfire Map You get to visit obscure locations like Tehiwai Islands along with the main hubs like Maje Island depending on your exploration choices. These regions total up to cover the entirety of the Pillars Of Eternity 2 Map. The southwest zone comes after that with the southeastern zone and northeastern zone following suit. Having said that, Pillars Of Eternity features four general areas with the northwest zone having the most areas to check out. While the essence of the game has remained the same, its maps and coverage have improved to the point where it’s hard to keep track based on memory alone. Along those lines, classes like the Druid and Priest who received all their spells in one big dump upon leveling up in Pillars will now receive spells a few at a time.Released back in 2018, Pillars Of Eternity 2 has grown to be massive due to the constant amount of content updates and feature improvements. Obsidian told me the resized party is to make the standard real-time-with-pause combat more manageable and readable. You’ll notice for instance that you only have five members in your party this time instead of the traditional six. I don’t even think Obsidian’s given a window like they did with the original Pillars (which early on was already aiming to be slightly larger than the first Baldur’s Gate).Īnd there have been some tweaks to both the 20-year-old formula and the Pillars ruleset. There’s no word yet on how large the actual game will be, of course. Again, I’m feeling Baldur’s Gate II vibes, as that game also had a stunning breadth of environments. In this brief five-minute look at the game there’s your ship headquarters, surrounded by cerulean ocean waves, an island town full of rocky shoals and beach huts, and a desert ruin beset by a sandstorm. The Deadfire Archipelago seems quite a bit more diverse than the original Pillars of Eternity’s dour Western Europe-style forests and fantasy, too. I’m picturing something like Wasteland 2’s dynamic Arizona desert, locations popping up as you travel, though this wasn’t demoed to us. There will be some actual exploration, some spots unmarked on your map that you’ll be able to find by sailing around to different islands. Obsidian told me though that it’s not just a fancy skin stretched across an old Infinity Engine-type map. There’s a glimpse of the new world map in the video, which should give you an idea how it all works.
